Hello everyone!!!

This week has gone by soooo fast! Ok literally my weeks are passing by in the blink of an eye.. before I know it I will open my eyes and be back home... ok but thankfully that`s still another 5 months away! Stories for this week:

Monday.. we had a normal day of proselyting because we went to the temple on Wednesday. It wasn`t our most successful day, but we were trying our best to get some good lessons in. We visited Carmen who is the mom of a missionary who just left.. she`s not a member but goes to church almost every week.. the only problem is that, she`s not married.. Later we visited Delia who is really great. She had wanted to be baptized in the past but never could because she also wasn`t married, and her husband didn`t want to get married, but now they are separated so we are working on preparing her to be baptized!

Tuesday we had our district meeting like always and it was pretty normal we learned about how to better teach our investigators the commandments. After we were able to have 6 lessons! We taught Arlleth, our investigator that is going to be baptized this Saturday! She is super cute.. we are praying she can be a good example for her family.

Wednesday.. We went to the temple!! YAY! It was so wonderful to be there in the place I love most. And I got to see one of the people I love most... we ran into Hermana Callejas and her companion. I also ran into a member for Libertad, Marvin, who always came with us to lessons. Later we went to KFC and did a little bargaining in the market. To finish our day we had a lesson with Benjamin.. he is progessing, but his family isn`t helping much.. their pastor came and got mad at them for coming to church so they haven`t wanted to receive us much lately.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday: We had a lot of lessons.. good and not so good.. the elders are now going to be teaching Fidel because he isn`t living in his daughter`s house now.. we were really really sad about it because we have seen him progress so much! Other great things..

That`s all I have time for this week folks.. sorry for being so short!! Love you all!

Happy 4th of July 3 days late!! And happy birthday Justin!!! This week has been crazy.. and as you can see by the new title I got transferred!!! I´m now here in the Bayovar ward in Manolias stake.. in San Juan de Lurigancho!! I finally came to the other side of the mountain!! Haha! My new companion is Hermana Zarate from Huancayo Peru! She is wonderful and we have been working hard here this week! I was called on Tuesday in transfers to be a sister training leader... we are in charge (I guess that would be the right word) of 5 companioships of sisters. We do work visits and help them to reach their potential as missionaries.. I feel very humbled and grateful for this opportunity to serve and hope that by doing so I can become more Christlike.. I feel like I have some big shoes to fill, but I know my Heavenly Father has something he wants me to learn and will help me along the way!
Monday I said goodbye to Sol del Pinar.. it was really sad to have to say goodbye to Karina.. we both cried and hugged for a while... And then on Tuesday it was transfer day! We got my bags all packed and headed to the offices... There I waited very impatiently to know where I would be headed.. President said ¨And the sister training leaders in Bayovar 2 will be Hermana Imbler with Hermana Zárate!¨ I was so so sooo surprised.. but also excited.. We headed to the other side of the mountain.. in San Juan de Lurigancho (if you look it up I`m sure you will find many pictures.. and also the prison. haha). We headed out to start working and had some really great lessons.

On Wednesday we had a council meeting with President Erickson, his wife, the assistents, the zone leaders, and the other sister training leaders. It was super interesting to be a part of and we talk about the mission and how we can further the work here in Lima North. On our way we got on a bus that took a bad road.. we got stuck in traffic and about 10 police officers showed up... the guy who collects the money was yelled at by the driver and told to hide.. super scary.. so my companion and I got off and started to look for a taxi. After about 10 minutes without success I saw the same bus and so we ran to get on.. We ended up being late to the meeting.. how embarassing, but it was a funny story to tell. Later we had more lessons (sorry I`m not very detailed in the lessons.. I forgot my agenda that had everything written...oops!)

Thursday we headed to San Isidro to go to the clinic.. because Hna Zárate has been sick.. Hermana Erickson came with us because the mission home is really close in Lima Central.. We had lunch with her and then we were able to head back to Bayovar. We had a lot of lessons and the funniest part is that we went to the birthday party of a convert just to say hi and ended up turning off the music and sharing a scripture with everyone that was there.. super awkward, but something we will never forget!

Friday we had our interviews with the president and then were able to go out to work. Normal day... Saturday we had our district meeting and got to now the zone a little more. Later we were walking and saw a little boy fall and start crying.. we helped him to his house and we realized he was the son of some new investigators we had found on Tuesday. We taught them again. Sunday was the best day.. their whole family came to church and we had 14 investigators there... WOW! That`s all for now!! Take care everyone!

That was the only title line that I could come up with.. maybe next week I will be a little bit more creative... Sorry that I am just lacking time like always.. but this week was really interesting..

On Monday we went to the institute building and were able to play air hockey and ping pong.. don´t worry I haven´t lost the skills and was able to beat the elders (Haha I only say that so Dad will be proud and excited to play with me when I get back.. Because I´m missing my ping pong buddy a little bit;) ) Then that night we were able to have 5 lessons which was super awesome.

Tuesday we had some good lessons with investigators, but nothing super special.. we had our missionary coordination meeting, and before we had a little chat with President and Hermana Erickson. Wednesday was a cool day.. in the morning we went to visit some sisters in our area and help them out a little bit and then we headed to do service really high up in a hill (that´s what the pictures are from). When we were carrying wood we found two poisonous lizards.. one of the elders hit them in the head and killed them.. (a little bit cruel if you ask me). But we took pictures with them.. The rock picture is also in the hill.. it was the most green I have seen in a while. Then during the rest of the day I headed off to do a work visit with another sister in our zone. I was able to work with her, see how she is doing, and try my best to help the zone.

Sorry I am out of time... but I hope next week I will be able to coordinate my time better to be able to take the time I need to write! Take care everyone!! Love you tons!!

Welcome to the life of Hermana Imbler.. today I got on a computer that didn´t work... again... and had to wait about 50 minutes just to start writing.. and now we will be finishing in 10 minutes.. Oh well computer time isn´t everything.. Today are transfers and I am trying my hardest to wait patiently to know if I will be staying here or if I´ll be heading to a new area because Hna Inca and I have now been together for two transfers and a half but... whatever the Lord has prepared for me I´m ready!! So just a quick recap...
Jhony and Karina got baptized yesterday!!!! In the morning before church we had a small baptismal service and everything went smoothly. Then they were confirmed in sacrament meeting and welcomed into the ward! We were literally so excited, Hna Inca and I hugged for a long time, our first family!! (I´ve attached two pictures.. one of the baptism and one of the wedding.. more to come.. when I have more than only 15 minutes). Teaching and preparing them this last week was a little harder, but really everything paid off! I know they are going to be such a great family in the church.. now we only have to keep strengthening them!

This week we weren´t able to get in contact with Juan.. He was sick last week and headed to Lima for a couple days.. but it looks like he has yet to return.. we are pretty sad because we love him a lot and he was progressing really well.. we´ll keep praying to find him. We found a new investigator Oswaldo who is also an older man (we are teaching three the same age of around 65 years old..) He didn´t want to go to church on Sunday because he is afraid if he leaves someone might rob him because his house isn´t secure.. we´ll be working with him on that one.

On Thursday I had a work visit from one of the sister training leaders and we had a really great time.. I learned a lot from her (even though she has less time in the mission) I realized that we can learn so much from being with other missionaries. We were able to have a really cool lesson in the street about faith. Something that she told the investigators really hit me.. So I thought I would share... A seed when it starts to grow starts growing up or down first? Down.. first it needs roots.. and then with time we will see the fruits it brings.. The same is with our faith.. we need to cultivate it.. at first we might not see the results, but with time we will see the grand fruits that come from our faith.

That´s all folks! Hope you are all doing well and know that I pray for you every day!! Thanks for all the support you give me!!

Happy Monday,

This letter is literally going to be three sentences.. but I wanted you all to know that I am doing so well and loving life! Jhony and Karina got married this last week and they will be getting baptized this coming Sunday.. we had to change the date for some unexpected reasons, but everything will be all good! The day of their marriage was literally the craziest day of my life.. but at the end we were all so happy!! Sorry that I`m going to be so short I got a bad computer and everything was just not going my way today.. We struggled a little this week but we were able to find a new investigator who is really great! More details to come on everything the coming week..

Have a wonderful week and I promise next week will be jam packed with good stories:)

One year... loving my life, one year... loving the Lord.. one year... loving the Peruvian people.. one year.. of the happiest moments of my life. I can´t believe that I´ve now been in this beautiful country for a whole year. Six months that await me are going to fly by faster than I can even imagine.. but I am going to make the best of every second I have!
This week hasn´t been the easiest we have struggled a little bit, but at the end of the week things got much better and I know that it will continue getting better! I am absolutely ecstatic about this week with the wedding and baptism of Karina and Jhony this week! I am just praying praying and praying that everything goes as planned!!

Monday we had yet another crazy P day.. we watched Kung Fu Panda.. I´m telling you that you will never see people laugh harder in an animated movie than you will if they are a group of missionaries. That night we went to visit Telesila and she was doing good, we explained the Book of Mormon more clearly and she was excited to read it. Then we went to visit Jhony and Karina, but Jhony didn´t get back from work until we had just finished with the lesson at about 9 o´clock.. we were a little disappointed, but we have to work around his schedule a little.

Tuesday we had our district meeting and then after we were stuck in some houses for like way to much time. We got stuck with one sister for like 2 hours and she didn´t want us to leave.. haha. Later we talked to Brenda a less active sister and she is doing better, gaining more confidence with us, but we are just praying she will go to church soon.

So you know me and my lack of planning internet time well so I am going to pack what I can into this last paragraph or two. Wednesday we had another district meeting with the assistents and then after had some good lessons. Juan is progressing and really loves learning more. Thursday we had some more good lessons and we got to know a new sister Jessica who we are going to start teaching. Karina and Jhony signed their marriage papers and are officially husband and wife (they will be having the huge ceremony this thursday..) Friday we had a lot of success with our lessons and got to know some new people. It was a miracle that we found a sister who we had been searching for for a while.. Saturday was the big conference with Elder Oaks. Our musical number went really well. I got to shake his hand and he asked me where I was from. Sunday Jhony, Karina, and Juan all came to church!

Sorry I´m outta time now! Love you all and there will be pictures coming your way next week!!  Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY JARED!!! Love you so much!!

Another week gone by and another HAPPY missionary here in Peru! The weeks role by and I realize that I really don`t have as much time as I think I do.. but I`m trying my hardest to savor every moment of it! This week was a little crazy but...... Jhony and Karina are getting married!!!! The birth certificates came, we found witnesses, and they went to sign up for everything, today as we speak they are in for their medical exam.. and Hermana Inca and I have never been happier!!!!! Now to sum up the week:
Monday my companion had to go to immigrations and I was with some other sisters during the day. We went shopping at Plaza Norte, the mall type place, it was pretty fun.. Later I went to pick up Hermana Inca and we headed to do some other things and then finished P day. We had a lesson with Bertha, and we decided for good that we are going to drop her for a while until she has a desire to follow through with her committments. Then we talked with Fiorela and her kids (the crazy ones haha) about faith. It was a good lesson and she gave us masamora morada and arroz con leche (a dessert typical here.. really good.. the masamora is made from purple corn.. and is like a gooey texture.. then the other is rice with milk, sugar, etc). We got a phone call on Monday night and our leaders told us that Hna Inca had to go to immigrations yet again on Tuesday..hooray!

Tuesday early we went to the offices. I talked to an Elder about the birth certificates of Karina and Jhony and they still hadn`t come through yet. I then spent half of the day with Hermana Sanchez, from Mexico.. in a ward that is in my old stake (unfortunately didn`t get to see any of the ward members from Libertad..) Then around 3 we went to pick up our companions in the offices.. They left and Hermana Inca and I stayed to talk for a minute with one of the assistents.. He was sitting down on the couch and asked us ¨Do you feel that?¨ Then two or three seconds later the ground shook.. Earthquake! Haha.. a lot of elders went running outside of the offices to see the buildings move.. but we stayed where we were. The assistent started laughing and said ¨How embarassing.. Do you see President Erickson running out of his office? No.. he didn`t even move!¨ It really wasn`t all that big.. it lasted about 15 seconds max.. So we headed home and had three lessons to finish off the day. We talked with Telesila and her hilarious son who is three said the prophet in the pamphlet looked like a sheep. Then later he asked for hand sanitizer then said no.. I`m not a woman.. this smells like woman! We finished the night talking to Jhony and Karina (they really are wonderful.. can`t say it enough)

Wednesday was stressful.. we went to visit Fiorela in the morning and gave us a dessert made from pumpkin (kinda weird.. but good).. about the middle I found a bug.. ewww.. she was pretty embarassed but I told her it was ok.. poor lady! Then later we spent a lot of the day looking for witnesses for the wedding of Jhony and Karina and finally we found two to go with them on Thursday to sign up for everything. That night Jhony`s birth certificate arrived and also Karina`s ID that she hadn`t had for months.

Thursday we took Jhony and Karina to meet the elders to take them to Lima Central to sign up. Thanks to a lot of faith everything turned out ok. Karina`s birth certificate was waiting in the offices and they were able to do everything! Although there was a little bump in the middle of the road and it ended up taking about 7 hours they finished everything with a smile. Meanwhile we were here in our zone proselyting.. really antsy waiting for the news. We had some really good lessons.. we visited Telesila again and talked to her about the Book of Mormon, she was really interested in that there was yet another testament of Jesus Christ..but then we got interrupted and she had to leave really quickly.. bummer.. Then we visited Juan.. he was a little bit harder to teach this time because he was confused about the Spirit World and the Resurrection, but we did our best. Then we talked with Rocio, a less active sister and she was really receptive (but she still doesn`t want to come to church..). Then we had a lesson with Silvia, another less active sister and she committed to come to church on Sunday (and she did!!! Yay!!) Then we went to visit Jhony and Karina again, we brought them chocolate to apologize for them having to be gone so long during the day. Their daughter Jhoyka when she got the chocolate gave us kisses like 8 or 9 times.. she is a jem and always asks when church will be. We taught them about The Plan of Salvation and it was a really spiritual experience, they really understood that in life there will be struggles but with faith we can conquer everything.

Friday was slow.. we tried to find Candy but ended up only finding Berta again.. and then we spoke with Juan yet again to explain more about the end of the Plan of Salvation and the Kingdoms of Glory. Lastly we had a short lesson with a family who has been on and off in coming to church but they are getting lots better.

Saturday morning we went to do visits with the ward members and then in the afternoon we had a lesson with 4 kids 13, 11, 10, and 8 years old. It was probably one of the funnest lessons we have had in a while.. they all wanted to participate and answer questions, and they had some really good questions. The only problem is their parents are hardly ever home.. we have only had like 2 lessons with their parents.. Then we talked with Alicia and she still is confused.. I think what she needs is to go to church and just see how it is one time to know that it is so different the feeling in the chapel than in any other place. Lastly we visited Jhony and Karina (we really like going there... if you didn`t notice) and we finished up The Plan of Salvation. Jhony at the beginning told us he wasn`t going to be able to go to church on Sunday.. Hermana Inca and I sat their speechless, because if he didn`t go he wouldn`t be able to be baptized until the 28th.. we explained a little, but I felt we should go on with the lesson instead of trying to explain to him about church first. We finished the lesson and the spirit was really strong. I asked him when we would see their whole family together next, and Jhony said.. don`t worry tomorrow we are all going to be at church. It was such a great feeling when we left their house knowing that we were able to help him make the right decision without forcing him to do it.

Sunday Jhony, Karina, Jhoyka, and Derek were all in the chapel like they promised and we brought Juan with us. They were all good meetings and then after Jhony and Karina had their first interviews for baptism. Later we had lunch with the bishop and his family, we had ward council, and then two short lessons to finish the day up.

That is my week (finally had time to get every little detail in..) Hope you all have a wonderful week and that you remember always how much I love each and every one of you and am thankful for your prayers and messages that you send my way!
