I´m going to have to change the subject line because it really isn´t very sunny anymore.. We are coming into Autumn and it is starting to get colder.. one day sunny the next day cloudy.. every morning and night it´s cold.. darn.. I really hoped I could work a little more on my missionary tan.. haha!
Monday we went and played soccer at a nice field.. I was the only sister that wanted to play.. and of course then the elders told us that only the sisters could shoot goals.. we won.. by a lot! Haha! It was super fun to get to play again.. although I really missed my goalie gloves.. Later we had a family home evening with a recent convert and her friend, we also then talked to a less active member and her daughter and shared a video that is awesome called On the Way Home.. if you get a chance to watch it even though it is ancient it´s super powerful!

Tuesday we had a pretty good day, we talked to a less active member who told us that she is now planning on coming back to church.. we pray that that is the truth, but we´ll have to see how that goes. We also talked to Alicia, but she is progressing really slowly.. it´s hard for her to commit to do things and follow through.. Jesser accepted baptism!!!! We were super excited! He wasn´t able to come to church this week because they had to pick up his aunt from the hospital but when I invited him to be baptized he said yes and then asked me, but what time is the baptism? Haha I just said.. you decide and we´ll do the rest!

Wednesday was a little slower but we did finally find a less active member we have been searching for for a month and had a short lesson with him.. later we talked with Teolinda and Estanislao again. They are super great, but they barely remember what we teach so it has been pretty hard to have them progress.. Lastly we talked with Berta, the mom of a recent convert Edson.. she also is really great but doesn´t follow through with the commitments we make..

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday...  Haha this always happens.. I get to the end of my time and I still have half a week left to write. Not a whole lot happened that was really interesting but I do know that we now have a new spirit.. my companion and I were able to talk to the President on Friday.. he gave us some wonderful advice and I am quite positive that we are just going to be working like crazy now in our area.. even more than before! We are helping a less active family now that are going to be sealed in the temple.. they are taking the classes.. and really it is the happiest feeling to know that I am helping people to go to the temple. Also Lizbeth and Jenny called me last night and they are going to start their papers to prepare for the mission! I really could never be happier to know that I was able to help them and then they are going to help even more people.. who will help more and more.. the chain reaction is incredible.. Never underestimate how much of a difference you can make by helping one person!

Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!!

Hola!!!

Well this week has been a very interesting one and finally I have time to write about what is going on here in this little part of Peru! First I wanted to describe a little bit of my area. It´s flat.. there are no hills! I finally reached the other side of the street! Haha.. but looks like I shouldn´t have been too excited.. this side of the street is a little richer. In a sense it´s kinda fun to see the houses a little more decorated.. (my artsy side coming out, but..) on the other hand.. the people are a little bit harder to teach.. They are a little colder than those that live on the hill side.. Also we have an area that I am pretty sure is empty.. Ok not really, but barely anyone is in the street during the day! It really surprised me! Like you have seen our ward is tiny.. we meet in a house.. but all is good because we are going to reactivate the less actives so that our ward will be a lot more full on Sundays! Now for my week..

Monday was P day.. we didn´t do all that much.. played volleyball as a zone and then my companion and I went to buy a few things we needed. Later we went to visit a 16 year old girl and found her older sister who was super interested, we didn´t have a lesson but we talked about the Book of Mormon and she said she really wanted one to read because we caught her attention with the history of it. Then we went to visit Alicia and her two kids Fernando and Gaby. She is really sweet but she still doesn´t want to come to church.. we talked about the Plan of Salvation and I heard one of my favorite responses ¨I had no idea that we lived with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ before coming here to the earth.. and that it was necesary for Adam and Eve to eat the fruit..etc.. Thank you SO much for teaching me this.. wow!¨ Seriously so cool to see reactions like that! Then we had a small family home evening with a single mom in our ward and her two little kids.

Tuesday we had our district meeting and I got to play the piano (it´s one of the highlights of my week). Later we had a lesson with Josefa, a less active-recent-convert... we are working on teaching her daughter Brisvany as well and she is receptive, but not home very much.. bummer! Later we had a lesson with a cute lady in our ward who also has a piano in her house (lucky me.. except it´s really out of tune) and we helped her with a little problem.. but great news: We helped to reactivate her and her husband just came back from the U.S. and now they are preparing to be sealed in the temple!! Wow I have never been more excited! I really hope that I will be able to go to see it because they are really a great older couple! Later we had a lesson with the mom and sister of a recent convert, Edson. They are receptive as well, but I think his sister faults a little bit of a push from him.. they are twins so should be a little easier we hope!

Wednesday was a pretty slow day because we had to do our weekly planning a day early but we were able to go out and teach with Lizbeth (my convert from my first area) which was super wonderful!! I also got a call and my sister training leader said we were going to do a work visit on Thursday.. surprise!

Thursday we at something super yummy that is called Pachamanka.. and then after lunch I headed off to do a work visit in an area called Tungasuka and I was able to get to know some great people there.. who knows maybe I´ll get sent there next.

Friday we visited Teolinda and Estanislao, they are a cute older couple we are teaching from Ankash.. I think I told you all that they speak a language called Chetuah.. (bad spelling). We also had a lesson that was super spritual with the husband of a less active member and then when we invited him to pray about Joseph Smith he just flat out said No.. the Spirit left the room so fast.. I really hadn´t felt so bad after a lesson.. Saturday and Sunday we found some new investigators and we are going to work with them this week!

Hope everything goes great this week for everyone! Love you all!

I told my mom I wasn´t going to write an email this week and she said just write something quick so everyone doesn´t think you are dead.. haha.. Well here I am, alive! I´m going to apologize now for the lack of a good long letter.. I am sitting here at the computer without even a speck of energy.. I got sick on Saturday night thanks to something I ate and spent Sunday in my bed almost without being able to wake up.. But don´t worry, the worst has past and this week will be even better than the last... which was pretty good! We upped our number of lessons and we are finding some new people to teach.. we´re still lacking, but it looks like we will be making this area burst in just a few weeks. We just need a little more help from the members and I´m sure we will be doing well! Today are transfers, but I´m pretty sure I will stay here! I´ll have to let you all know next week.. haha but don´t get your hopes up I´ve only been here two and a half weeks, don´t think President wants to get rid of me that fast. Hope you all enjoyed conference! I loved the Saturday sessions, but unfortunately couldn´t watch Sunday.. But I will leave you with this:
We have to be in this world, but we don´t have to be of this world.
