That means.. what happened.. in Mexican terms.. because my new companion is from Mexico!!! Hermana Osorno is probably one of the most beautiful missionaries..not only in looks but in her personality as well! I am so excited to be able to work here in Bayovar with her during these next 6 weeks!

Recap of the week! Monday.. my birthday was probably one of the most boring, but it`s ok.. we just spent the day saying goodbye to people because my old companion was leaving (she got sent to Comas). But the good part was that the Vallejos family all remembered.. they bought me a cake and everything which was super cute!

On Tuesday we had transfers.. I waited nervously to see who would be my new companion.. At the end they called my name and I was so happy to see that my new companion would be Hermana Osorno.. Like I said before she is the best! And I am also excited for the Mexican food we are going to make.. haha! So on Tuesday we headed back to our area, but... unfortunately we were only there for a few ours and we got a call from the assistents... my companion had to go to immigrations.. so we headed to the offices.. Tuesday night I stayed in Independencia and then was there all day with some other sisters.. We got home later that night and headed to bed..

Thursday we had a district meeting and then afterwards we were finally able to start working in our area.. we got stuck in some lessons that lasted a reallly long time, but at the end we visited Rubi and Jorge which was fun for them to get to know my new companion.. I think they are going to get used to her fast.. just like I have! Friday we had quite a few lessons.. including the last lesson with Miguel as an investigator because on Saturday he got baptized!!! But more of that in a moment.. We had a good lesson with the Gordillo family, but they are still struggling with some doubts..

Saturday.. we had service.. we painted a few classrooms of a school, which was fun! Later we had to get ready for the baptism because it was combined with some other missionaries. It was great and Miguel was able to be baptized.. when he shared his testimony I almost cried.. it was so sweet. Afterwards I had the priveledge of watching the General Women`s Conference.. I learned so much from that. One of my favorite things was that President Uchtdorf said.. God loves you RIGHT NOW.. he loves us no matter what.. it`s not important how many friends you have on facebook or followers on twitter.. it`s not important how popular you are.. because God loves you for who you are! Never forget it!! I love you all so much! Take care!!

I think I spoke too soon when I said that the sun was coming, because this week has been COLD!

I´m really short on time today, but I wanted to thank everyone who sent me birthday wishes today! Can´t believe I hit 21.. I´m just hoping this next year goes by a little bit slower! Today is a free Pday so we will see what we decide to do!

This last week was awesome!! Just a really short recap.. we had the wedding of Jorge and Rubi, and Lucy and Jaime on Friday.. Attached are three pictures I really love from the wedding. One with each of the families and the last one is of the reception with Rubi danced with Sebastian and Jorge with Ariana.. so precious!! I really feel so blessed to have been able to be a part of their lives.. The Vallejos family is amazing and I will love them forever and forever.. When Rubi, Sebastian, and Ariana were baptized it was one of the sweetest moments.. Even though the water was ice cold, we had to change chapels, and it started late.. everything was wonderful! Just knowing that this will be a great new start for their family is the best feeling in the world. Rubi spoke a little bit and expressed her feelings in the baptism.. when she thanked us for teaching her about the gospel I started to cry (doesn´t surprise anyone though).

This week we were able to visit Miguel and he had his pre-interview! After that we are really excited that this week he will be baptized! We are lacking a little on finding new investigators that are prepared, but we will see how everything goes later on this week. I am sad that we haven´t been able to contact Edith... but this week we did find a great new investigator, Lesly who is the wife of a less active.. We find a lot of those it seems, and they are really awesome to teach!

Today we have transfers, so I will see how everything goes for the last two transfers of my mission. I really sincerely can´t believe how fast everything has gone by.. I am so ready to just take every chance I get during these last few months to do all I can.. I pray that the Lord will help and guide me in every moment. But what I can say up until now is that I am so grateful for the blessings that I have received.. I am thankful for the relationship that I have grown to have with my Heavenly Father and I know it will continue getting stronger and stronger throughout my life until I can return and live with Him and my family forever! Have a wonderful week, I love you all so much!!

Here Comes the Sun

Do do do doo.. here comes the sun, and I say.. It`s alright! But really I am so excited because finally the sun is coming out and I feel a little bit more invigorated to be able to keep working hard! I just hope it doesn`t get too hot! The bad part is that it got hot the day after we went to Lima Central.. bummer, but Wednesday was super cool! We went to a museum that had some creepy stuff.. lots of catholic history and bones... eww! We also went to the Plaza de Armas.. that was cool, there are some pictures attached below of our little trip! I found some cool paintings and I was going to buy them, but they were a little expensive.. so I told the guy no.. well then he followed me for about 3 blocks until I finally had to just say NO.. and he left.. wow talk about pressure.. haha! We took the train home and then I got sick... so not fun, but oh well it was still a great experience overall!

This week has been a little bit harder than the rest, but I am getting excited for the weeks to come we have some good plans coming up... So recap for the week on the investigators:

Rubi had her pre-interview and everything went great! We are so so so excited for her wedding this Friday and then her baptism along with her kids on Saturday! I think it is going to be a pretty crazy week! She is getting her dress ready, shoes, everything.. really girly stuff, but it is cute to see her all excited!

The Gordillo family... ahh they are so wonderful, but... they didn`t go to church on Sunday, which means that their baptism is going to be moved until October.. darn! We were able to talk to their son Brayan and we are helping to get him a little more involved in learning about the gospel which I think will really help push his mom, because Lucy really wants him to be involved with good friends and doing good things, which is exactly what the church desires and teaches. We weren`t able to visit them very much during the week because they were busy a lot, but we will see how everything goes this coming week..
Miguel is doing GREAT!! He is coming to church now every week, reading the Book of Mormon and in his free time he reads the church magazines. He really is one of our golden investigators! His baptism will be on September 27th, so the following week!
Edith... is awesome, but also didn`t go to church on Sunday so we have to start counting over again with her asistences... what a bummer, but I know she will progress, maybe just a little bit slower than we thought at first! We taught her together with one of her friends this week and the cool part was that she wasn`t even ashamed to share and she was talking about how much we have blessed her life.. how cool is that?
Spiritual thought for the week: Acts 17:27-28

27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
We are his offspring... In him we live and move.. If it were not for our loving Heavenly Father we would literally have and be nothing... there is nothing more beautiful than to know that we are children of God.. I think I say that a lot, but it`s because it`s really true.. it`s the knowledge that has changed me and helped me to really understand my purpose. It´s the knowledge that is probably the most important in this life.. if we really come to know God we will gain the greatest relationship and the one that matters most. I invite you all to come closer to your Father in Heaven... to feel His love.. because He knows you by name and knows everything about you. Trust in Him.. Thanks for your support and your love that I feel constantly!

Another week gone by and this one was definitely on the crazy side. On Tuesday we had our district meeting, Wednesday our leadership council, Thursday we went to sign up Rubi for the wedding in Lima, Friday we had another big zone meeting, and Saturday we did service.. a week packed full of crazy things.. but we are excited for the progress our investigators are making..

Jaime, Lucy, Bryan (14), Justin (8), and Jeremy (1)  aka..Gordillo family, are doing great!! AND... they all came to church on Sunday!! Sat on the front row, and it really was so awesome to see them all there! This week we were able to get them signed up for the wedding on the 19th and everything went well. They accepted a baptismal date for the 27th of this month, so we will be working hard to get them prepared and resolve all of the doubts that Lucy has about tithing, and baptism.. but really I am so excited for the changes their family is making. Bryan is a little bit rebellious and we haven`t been able to talk to him much, but this week we will focus a little bit more on him and his mom.

Rubi and Jorge are also getting ready for their wedding on the 19th! Rubi was planning her reception and everything with her sister in law and her niece.. so cute! I am so excited for her. On Thursday we went to get her signed up in Lima Central and our taxi driver took us on a little bit of a sight-seeing route without charging us extra.. super cool! We are sad because Jorge won`t be able to baptize them, but Sebastian and Ariana are excited as well and learning more. We really enjoy the time we have with them, they are such a great family and really progressing a ton!

Edith we were only able to visit once this week which was a little sad.. and she wasn`t able to come to church on Sunday.. We are still praying for her and we should be going to visit her today to see how everything is going. We have another baptismal date planned for the 27th. Miguel has now been to church twice and he is really excited to be baptized! He has had a rougher life but now he is willing to turn everything around and really make a big change in his life.

I love you all so much! Thanks for the support you give me!! Next week I will be sure to have some more great news! Never forget the potential you have... Never forget that you are sons and daughters of our loving Heavenly Father.. you were created in his image.. and you all have the potential of becoming just like him!

Take care!!

Good morning family and friends!!

This week has been a little bit different then usual, but it looks like things are picking up here in our area and we are really excited about the end of the month of September for all of the people who are progressing.

I`ve decided this week to do a progress report of the people we are teaching instead of a daily update.. so....

This week we were able to accomplish a lot with Rubi and her family. We are really excited for her progress and her desires. We started doing her papers for the wedding of her and Jorge on the 19th of September.. and we are so excited! Also she asked us if it would be okay if her kids Sebastian and Ariana got baptized on the same day, so of course we said YES!! So that is what we are planning just before my birthday.. I love presents like these! We were able to share with her about the restoration this week and she was really interested in everything that we taught and excited to learn more. Really I feel so blessed to have met their family. She did express to us one worry though.. that maybe the temple in Lima will be closed next year so they can`t be sealed there... Okay talk about a doubt that is actually a really wonderful one. Her desires are so great to have an eternal family.. and I am praying to be here when that dream comes true next year..

Javier was baptized on Sunday!! Yay! It was a great baptismal service although later that night his mom let us know that she had not been invited... oops... We felt really bad that he had not said anything to his mom, and I think she was a little upset with us.. but we gave him invitations, only that he didn`t pass them along.. But anyways, we are hoping to see him progress during these next few weeks. And I am praying that he will have desires to serve a mission when he turns 18..

Side note: we had a work visit on Tuesday and I got to spend the day with Hermana Moe.. my friend that I met before the mission and we went to a Peruvian restaurant together. It was super cool to be able to spend the day with her and catch up on some cool mission stories.
